Please note that booking an appointment with a doctor may not be the most appropriate way to deal with your problem. We encourage our patients to take responsible action to care for themselves, where appropriate. You can find information about common conditions that normally resolve without the need to see or speak to a doctor or nurse on the self-care page of our website.
We now offer the opportunity for our patients to self-refer to some services without the need to see a doctor first. You can now access care directly for physiotherapy, foot care, counselling & talking therapies, audiology, citizens' advice, weight management, stop smoking, family planning and drug & alcohol services. Please see our self-referral page for full details.
New website address
Please note that we now have a new single website for The Valleys Medical Partnership.
This is for use by patients registered at both of our sites (Moss Valley Medical Practice and Gosforth Valley Medical Practice).
The new website address is www.thevalleysmedicalpartnership.nhs.uk
You can still use our old website addresses for the next few months as they will redirect you to our new website, but you should start to use the new website address as soon as possible.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
The practice has the facility to share your record when you need to receive care from other parts of the NHS (for example, if you need to see our community nurses or if you attend for physiotherapy). When you receive care from another part of the NHS, you will be asked for permission to share your record and information is only shared with your permission. This is extremely helpful for all staff within the NHS. You can find out more information about this by clicking on this link: https://derbyshirehealthcarerecords.org.uk/
